Concrete coatings in Star Valley — installed by people who grew up here.
Hoopes Brothers Epoxy is based in Afton, Wyoming. We service the entire Star Valley corridor — Alpine, Thayne, Etna, Bedford, Smoot, Freedom, Star Valley Ranch — with cold-weather rated systems built for the real winter conditions our floors actually see.
Star Valley isn’t a service area for us. It’s home.
Harrison and Brigg both grew up in Afton. Wrestled at Star Valley High School. Played in Salt River. Hunted elk in the Greys River.
Brigg now coaches the Star Valley High wrestling program — same mats he wrestled on. Harrison learned concrete prep from a local installer right here in the valley, working summers and after school. The trade we built this business on came from this place.
When you hire us for a Star Valley install, you’re not getting a Salt Lake contractor making the drive up. You’re getting people who’ll see you at the grocery store next week, the football game on Friday, the bishop’s storehouse on Saturday. That changes how we work.
Every town in the valley.
We service the full Star Valley corridor from Alpine in the north down through Smoot. If your community isn’t listed, call us — chances are we’ll make it work.

Star Valley conditions are different from Salt Lake or Provo. The right system has to account for what your floor will actually experience.
Sub-Zero Winters
Afton routinely sees -20°F or colder. Standard epoxy can’t cure below 50°F. We use polyaspartic systems rated to 0°F for winter installs and standard epoxy in warmer months.
Heavy Salt Use
County and state roads get heavy salt and brine treatment. Cars track it into garages all winter. Our systems are salt-resistant and seal the concrete from chemical absorption.
Freeze-Thaw Cycles
The valley sees 100+ freeze-thaw cycles per year. Untreated concrete spalls under repeated expansion. Our coatings seal the slab against the moisture that causes the damage.
Older Slabs
Many Star Valley garages have slabs poured 20-40+ years ago. Crack repair, spall fill, and moisture testing are standard parts of our prep — we know what valley slabs look like.
Detached Shops
Lots of Star Valley homes have detached shops, hay barns converted to garages, or mountain cabins with concrete bays. We install in all of them — including unheated structures with polyaspartic systems.
Ag & Equine Buildings
Valley ranches, equine facilities, and milking parlors need different chemistry than residential garages. Ammonia-resistant, washdown-capable systems available.
Every Star Valley install comes with our 15-year written warranty — peeling, delamination, hot-tire pickup, and UV color change all covered.
If something goes wrong, you call us — Harrison or Brigg directly, same phone, same family. We’ll be at your house faster than a Salt Lake contractor could even return your voicemail.
No transfer fees, no fine-print exclusions, no third-party service contracts. The warranty is honored by the family that installed your floor.
Same family that installed your floor will be there when it needs us again.
Star Valley floor projects start with a call.
Free in-person estimates throughout the valley. We measure, moisture-test, and walk you through every option — usually within 48 hours of your call.
